Wall Boards and Cladding
Richmond has a comprehensive range of internal wall boards supplied
by Fermacell and Cembrit Blunn and for the external, a full range
of architectural terracotta façades by Terreal. |

About Fermacell
Fermacell is a high performance, multi-purpose building board
that when installed combines the properties of solid blockwork
with the speed and flexibility of conventional drywall techniques,
and which allows the designer to use radical solutions in internal
space planning.
Fermacell is produced using ordinary materials in an extraordinary
way. Raw gypsum, cellulose fibres derived from recycled paper, and
water are combined to form an homogenous mass, which is then formed
into a dense sheet material. Not only is the manufacturing technique
unique but the process itself is fully recycling
– all by products being fed back into the system, ensuring
no waste is produced.
Fermacell possesses impressive properties, including high impact,
fire and moisture resistance, much improved sound insulation compared
with traditional wall and flooring materials. Fixings such as radiators,
shelves and cupboards can be mounted directly due to the high density
of the board and without the need for noggins. It has also the advantage
of a totally dry fixing process and is ready to decorate. It can
also be finished to provide a high quality plaster-like surface.
A number of accessories are available including fixing screws, joint
filler, joint adhesive and the fine surface treatment for a smooth
finish. A board knife and application spatulas for the fine surface
treatment can also be supplied.

Fermacell Dry Lining
Fermacell wall boards are available in standard sizes as shown
below:
Boards are fixed to steel or timber studwork to provide durable
solutions for virtually every dry lining application.
Fermacell boarding can satisfy the Building regulations without
expensive double boarding or special constructions.
The partitions share the same moisture resistance so that in many
cases installation can commence before the building envelope is complete.
The inherent impact resistance and screwholding properties eliminate
the need for underdrawing the boards with plywood in high traffic
areas or where flexibility in wall fittings is required.
Fermacell is sized at manufacture to accept a wide variety of decorative
finishes. Paints, wall coverings and tiles can all be applied directly
to the surface of the board –
normally without additional treatment.
If the wall is to be painted, a Fine Surface Treatment can be applied
simply and without any plastering skills. This results in a finish
that is smooth, resembles plaster skim and doesn’t crack.
